Busy, Busy, Busy and a Fever

It seems like forever since I have posted anything. It's been a busy week already and the weekend was busy too. Let's see last time I wrote it was last week and a lot has happened. Thursday was a usual day...work then home, Survivor and bed...not too much going on that day. Friday was a long day...woke up early to work OT at 5 am ..I hate to get up but I am loving the bigger paychecks and hope it lasts a little bit longer. I have to admit I was getting a bit burned out...which is why I suspect I feel victim to a fever on Sunday but I am moving ahead...so I met Brad after work for lunch...chicken ceasar salad at the Habit and then home to go to the gym but I got sidetracked at home for a bit as my hubby took the day off. I took a nap and then worked out in the home gym in the garage for about 30 minutes, took a shower and got ready for the SRTMS Talent Show back in Camarillo at 5:30. My hubby was nice enough to join me and meet Brad and the whole family down to see Tia perform a dance to You are My Sunshine...it was the same one she did for her recital at the Performing Arts Center aka Prison, last July and she was the greatest...Reminder to get pictures to post.
Anyway the talent show was hilarious as some of the kids were just too funny...some were really good and some not so good...but I have to give them credit...I never had the guts to do that sort of thing when I was in elementary school...or even now...so praise all around for the kids of SRTMS. We had wanted to go to Yolanda's after the show but a long wait...so we headed over to some Italian joint my sister goes to and it was pretty good...we had more Caesar salad and Pizza. A bit much for me but it was really good. Home after dinner and boy I needed to go to bed.
Saturday was another early day to get up to see Thomas and Tia play softball/baseball Tia's game was first. She did awesome as she does in just about everything she does. Can't say the same for another girl on her team, named Nature...not sure why she is out there although she does need to exercise...need I say more. I should talk I know...but I was not overweight when I was that age...she's only 5 and weighs at least twice what Tia weighs. She just did not understand what to do...She hits the ball and then proceeds to stand still or run after the ball she just hit...if she does run it's really slowly...poor girl...then she practically has to be chased or dragged to the next base...totally not motivated. I don't know what else to say.
Thomas's game was next and this year the boys can get struck out...so I knew this would be challenging for our boy Thomas. He likes to play but is not as athletically inclined as his sister. He has improved so much though. The first couple of times up he got struck out and finally his last up he hit the ball and made it to first base. I know we all were relieved that he hit the ball. I would hate for him to get down on himself for not being able to get a hit. His position when not batting was the "pitcher" and he made some good throws to first base. So overall he did a good job and I sure am proud of him. He's just an awesome kid. After the game in the hot sun we headed to Subway for lunch and I headed home but only after a stop to get my man some much need grub to help get through installing the surround sound on Beth's new system. Finally made it home to relax. I didn't realize till later what a number the sun did to my face and chest...I have to remember to bring some lotion and a hat next time. So I am worn out and just glad to be home with my man. We had a nice evening in and started planning our Sunday. I found some recipes in a Cooking Light and Robb is nice enough to cook them up for us. I am a lucky girl. So we made a list to go to the market to get what we need for them. Started watching some Arrested Development as most of our TIVO is either my stuff or his stuff that neither of us like. Pretty good show so far. We have a ton more to watch. Off to bed and looking forward to tomorrow.
So we took it easy in the morning a little to relaxing as the morning got away from us quickly. We di get a lot done...hit the banks, recycling center, market, and then headed to the AMC to see the Astronaut Farmer. Pretty good movie, not so bad since it was free. We got the tickets when I completed an American Cancer Health check online for the both of us...so we have two sets of tickets to see a movie. Not too bad...Next flick is mine. It was HOT in the valley too...I felt like it was the middle of summer...crazy hot. Anyway head back to get one more thing a new holder for our flag. The wind did some major damage to our old one. Thanks babe!!
So that night we had meatlof...we had orginally planned on Brad joining us for dinner, but he's been working long hours too and decided to just go home...great night and meatloaf and even better as Rob and Amber were the last to arrive and were eliminated from the Amazing Race. Not feeling so good a fever go to me and I was burning up...took some medicine before bed, but still had a fever in the morning...went to work anyway...by early afternoon it was normal. Then I picked up Tia to help my mom out. Gave the kids their baths and then headed home to my sweet man who was cooking another great meal for us. This time it was salmon and it was yummy. Thanks again...Great Dinner!!
Today is yet going to be a busy day as well. Work then meet Thomas for practice and then home...homework...dinner...baths, etc. Hopefully they will be pretty good. I just want to get home and rest. It was a busy week and weekend.

Happy Monday!

Had a good weekend, but like all weekends it went by too quickly. Friday was a bit sad as we found out officially that no contractors will be spared in the BRAC downsizing. I already had suspected this but still. Anyway all our jobs are available in China Lake but alot of us here don't want to move...but we will see...I am set to remain here till the end...at least 1.5 years but it could be longer. I think next summer might be a good time to see what's going on out there.
So on to Saturday, Robb and I had a nice relaxing morning and then headed to Ventura to pick up a few caches since we were meeting his parents to look at the new condo they are buying. They were really nice and close to a lot of convenient stores. Then we had a nice lunch and headed further up the coast to Carpenteria to collect more caches and then headed back to Camarillo for a couple more caches and then dinner with Brad. We had a nice time relaxing there. By the time we got home though we were tired and headed straight to bed.
Sunday was also a great day. Again we had a nice morning together and then Robb headed out to cache, while I headed out to Manhattan Beach to spend the afternoon with Karen. We had a nice lunch at Martha's...a little leery to go there as I think this one of the places were my credit card was copied and used in NY to buy gas...luckily I had cash. Then headed for the rest of our bike ride...a little more than 2 hours and for me a total of 657 calories...so that was good...as the night before I did not eat so well. Although I enjoyed riding on the beach, I was getting tired and was looking forward to getting home. I was right coming home was the best. I had a house filled with the smell of wonderful food and a man happy to see me...as happy as I was to see him...took a shower, ate a yummy dinner with a little wine and then watched one of our favorite shows...Amazing Race...West Virginia didn't make it as far this time around. I am looking forward to the day when Rob and Amber get the boot. They are annoying...but anyway. I was getting really tired after the delicious dinner and wine but we finished watching the show and I finished the dishes and headed to bed...I was worn out. It was a good day!!
Slept really well and now I am here at work and I am busy...which is good. We got approved for OT so I will be working a lot the next two months to save as much money as possible. Well back to work, as I have taken up enough time writing this.

The Axe Fell Again

Yes we had more notices yesterday and pretty much our entire department is closing down. It will be planned by October 1, 2007 and then implemented to begin by Summer 2008 and be completed by 2011 but I think it will be 2008 more than likely. Gives me some time. OT was approved for March and April so I am going to take advantage of it and save my money.
Anyway I had a GREAT dinner with hubby last night. Babe you are the best picking out Thai, it was absolutely awesome. It was fun to hang out with you last night at Back to Schol night too.
Going to finish my cereal and then get back to work. Gym after work and then home to relax

The Axe Fell

Well I came into work today and started to get going with what I would be working on for the day and Eycine, my lead in the area, called me over and informed me she would be losing her job. I kind of figured it would happen. The only saving grace is that she is a lead. If anyone else in the area goes we probably will all be going. Not sure how long the process will take...but I am saddened over her losing her job and mine might not be far behind. I almost got laid off before and I would have found another job. I just like the benefits here. Poor Eycine she couldn't take it here and went home. She's really upset, escpecially since she is only two years from getting her 20 years in to have a fully paid pension. I wish her and the rest of us luck.
On a positive note, I am excited about having dinner out with my hubby tonight. He has an open house/back to school night and we are going to go out to dinner before his night begins with the kid's parents...should be interesting. I won't stay long as I am going to try and see if I can take a Yoga class tonight. I took one awhile ago, but this one is Power Yoga and it's been a couple of years since I took that type of class but I am looking forward to it. I need to unwind and stretch. Should be good. Okay now back to work.
